Since its inception, A Horse Tale Rescue has grown to over 400 members, 70 hands on volunteers and rescued more than 25 horses, 11 of which are still in our care. We have also seen great success through our AHT Experience Program, helping community groups (through guided small group interactions with our horses at no cost), who support individuals with special or specific needs.
Unfortunately, despite our Adoption and Rescue Program, we are forced to refuse a dozen surrender requests each year due to lack of space at our barn. We’ve also had to limit our AHT Experience Program to certain periods of the year due to barn and weather conditions. We are therefore limited in how we can help.
Our Plan
In order for AHT to provide more opportunities for rescuing and giving second chances, while expanding on our AHT Experience Program, we need to grow!
This year we kicked off a large fundraising program called Project Evolution to help us do just that. Our plan is to build a new modern facility capable of allowing AHT to accommodate up to 40 horses, 100 acres of green space, year round access for the ATH Experience Program while ensuring the sustainability of our organization.
