AHT Executive Director Mike Grenier made the announcement on Facebook today.

A Horse Tale Rescue (AHT) is thrilled to announce that they have won Horse Canada’s 2019 Hero of the Horse award. This award was created by Horse Canada in order to celebrate the hard work and dedication of exceptional horse people around the country. Of the 10 finalists, AHT was the only rescue from the province of Quebec. AHT is truly honored to have won the Horse Canada’s 2019 Hero of the Horse Award and will be receiving a trophy, $2,000, 12 blankets from Canadian Saddlery and have their story featured in the November/December issue of Horse Canada magazine. This is a phenomenal recognition of the hard work and passion that ignites every AHT volunteer.

Upon hearing of this achievement, Mike Grenier, Executive Director for AHT who was nominated for the award earlier this year stated “I couldn’t be more proud of our organization as I am today! Everyone that voted, reposted, advocated and supported us on social media throughout the finalist voting phase of this award had a direct impact to our AHT win! On behalf of our rescued horses and all our AHT members, a heartfelt thank-you for all that you have done to make this happen for AHT!”
