Rusty Needs Our Help

His condition worsened throughout the day to the point his immediate transport to the St-Hyacinthe Large Animal Hospital was his only hope. A displaced colon as well as a very high fever and heart rate meant we needed to act quickly if Rusty was to have a fighting chance.

Given the last minute decision and logistics of transporting a large horse two hours away at 7:00 p.m. at night, was not an easy task. Thankfully through the kind horse network in our area along with support for AHT Rescue, we found a solution for someone to help us out.

This situation brought us to the realization that AHT Rescue needs to be more self-sufficient, especially in times of crisis and needing to act quickly for the care for a suffering horse. This is a call to action to help us, help Rusty. The veterinarian costs throughout the day, emergency transport and hospitalization will surely surpass $5,000. This along with the purchase of a used trailer of approximately $5,000 to help AHT support our herd is our appeal for your help.
