Goodbye Sweet Caesar

Goodbye Sweet Caesar

It is with great sadness that AHT said goodbye to Caesar, this past Thursday night, August 27, 2015.

A retired caleche horse, Caesar arrived at AHT’s barn in the cold of winter 2015, with a form of rectal cancer.  This meant that we knew he’d have limited time with us and so we promised to give him as much love and caring that we could. Unfortunately, his cancer progressed to the point where it got the better of him, and we had to say goodbye.
From the very first day he arrived he made an impact on us. That bittersweet day that he arrived was the very same day that we said goodbye to Bud. In fact, our AHT logo was inspired by this picture of Caesar and Bud passing in the snow.

Although Caesar wasn’t with us for very long he made a huge impact on all of us, with his gentle soul and his big soft lips. He was such a loveable gentle soul who will not only be missed by all of us, but also by the herd. We leave you with the words of A Horse Tale’s VP, Mike Grenier.
“Caesar was walked around the property one last time,he said his goodbyes to Trooper, Balou and Jim. Jim came forward quickly and put his head down to Caesar and they rested for some time. The sky was a beautiful pink, the moon was shining bright and the crickets were singing loud for him.

Thank you everyone for being in his life, although his time with AHT was short, we gave him the best times he has ever had. How he would stand there looking at you with those big deep dark eyes, how he would dip his hay in his water bucket as he would eat, be the first to gallop through the gates into the pasture, or just be the best pal Trooper could ever have, he was and will forever be our little Ceazy boy.”
