[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] On Friday the 3rd of February, 2017 we had to say goodbye to our one and only Guinness the donkey. Looking back, we celebrate all of the things that made him so very unique and special to all of us at AHT… [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”9606″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” onclick=”img_link_large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]Guinness, first arrived at AHT on July 1st 2013, but initially no one knew his name and so a contest was held to give him one. The winner of course was “Guinness” –  coming in at 29%. The runner up was “Murphy” at 24% in case you were wondering. Prior to retiring at AHT, Guinness was a “guard donkey” in a cow field. A few years later (in 2015) AHT moved to a new location across the street from that very same cow field, and “Guinney” was reunited (sort of) with his cow friends. This was also around the same time that the cow…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] A Horse Tale took in 3 young wonderful horses this fall and those horses are now looking for their forever homes.   Let’s start with the “baby”, 5 year old Remady! This pretty girl arrived in the fall and immediately displayed her playful spirit, but she also proved that she can be a good girl…as her video on our Youtube channel clearly demonstrates. UPDATE: May 20, 2017 The youngest member of our AHT Rescue family has found a new home! Remady, our warmblood mare who will be turning 6 years old, has been adopted by a qualified and caring individual who fell in love with her curiosity and eagerness. After an extensive review by the AHT Adoption & Rescue Committee, it was determined that Remady would be in a very caring environment consistent with the values of AHT Rescue. On May 18, 2017 she was transferred to her new home where she will enjoy the…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On December 1st, 2016 , just a few weeks shy of his 33rd birthday, Trooper passed away. And so we bid farewell to our special friend… Back in the spring of 2014 this sweet morgan horse settled in for his retirement at A Horse Tale when the farmers who’d had him could no longer afford to keep their farm. A calm and gentle horse, Trooper was a favorite of many members. Being a volunteer based group, means that some of our members come to us with little or no experience working with horses. Thanks to his gentle nature, Trooper became the “go-to” horse for our members to understand what it means to care for a horse. He was approachable. Trooper provided our new members an opportunity to gain confidence and feel comfortable around horses. In turn he got back love. As much as Trooper was loved by the people of AHT, he never really paired off with…

[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text] HAY!!! We can use some help! About 1 month ago we put out the call to purchase good quality hay for the winter. Thanks to many of you, that call was answered, and we received several recommendations for hay and ended up with a great contact… However, this came at a price. $5.75 a bale to be precise – almost twice what we normally pay at 3.50. So…we’re reaching out once again this time asking for help to cover these costs. If you can help, we’d be forever grateful. Click the hay bale/button below to purchase a bale (or two) of hay for 5.75$ By purchasing a bale (or two, or three) you can literally help us feed the horses and send them running on their way to munch away on your hay! A Horse Tale is making a difference in the lives of more than just horses. Here is David’s story.

A Horse Tale’s VP Mike Grenier was interviewed this weekend by Kate Sheridan of the Montreal Gazette in regards to the winter shelter and work that needs to be done as part of our winter fundraising effort. Featured on the cover picture is AHT barn manager Caroline Handy, along with 10 year old Ethan Mason who spent part of his summer creating bracelets, selling them and then donating the proceeds to A Horse Tale.
