Though they cannot be ridden, A Horse Tale Rescue currently has two wonderful rescues, who would make excellent companion horses. And, as luck would have it, they are best pals! Smouch is a 19-year-old Palomino gelding who’s name describes him perfectly. He is kind, friendly and gentle but has a bit of a mischievous side. We’ve also learned recently, while bringing him in from the pasture, that he responds to a sharp whistle. He has a conformation problem with his front knees, which is why he cannot be ridden. He does not currently take medication for his condition. Rocky is his 11-year-old side-kick who follows Smouch’s lead. He is curious, affectionate and is a sight to behold when he runs. Rocky was…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] A Horse Tale took in 3 young wonderful horses this fall and those horses are now looking for their forever homes.   Let’s start with the “baby”, 5 year old Remady! This pretty girl arrived in the fall and immediately displayed her playful spirit, but she also proved that she can be a good girl…as her video on our Youtube channel clearly demonstrates. UPDATE: May 20, 2017 The youngest member of our AHT Rescue family has found a new home! Remady, our warmblood mare who will be turning 6 years old, has been adopted by a qualified and caring individual who fell in love with her curiosity and eagerness. After an extensive review by the AHT Adoption & Rescue Committee, it was determined that Remady would be in a very caring environment consistent with the values of AHT Rescue. On May 18, 2017 she was transferred to her new home where she will enjoy the…

Below is a message that was sent to us by a mom who visited A Horse Tale’s BBQ fundraiser on August 3rd, 2014.  It’s re-printed here with her permission. I would like to personally thank you for the most wonderful experience that happened at your fundraiser today. My son Joseph age 5 (well 6 on September 3rd) is autistic. Joseph had a very serious fear of animals. Two years ago a cat could not even go near him without blood-curdling screaming. While we had no pets of our own at the time, to witness this fear in him was heartbreaking. There was no explanation for it, we assumed it to be an autism thing.  After much therapy (which I won’t get into), one day while we were on a family vacation in Cuba, Joseph spotted a cat. He asked me if he could go and pet the cat. I smiled…
