[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] A Horse Tale is reaching out to the public to help us reach our goal of 1300$ to build a new outdoor shelter and add an eavestrough over the side of the barn. Once complete, all of our paddocks will have shelters. Our members came out in force to get the water out, and then it was a constant battle throughout the spring to keep it…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Our Day in the Country event for 2016 was by far our most organized, fun and cohesive event. All of our members were decked out in our snazzy new red AHT T-shirts, there was signage throughout the farm, all stations had appropriate volunteers with loads of rotation so everyone got a chance to enjoy the event, the food was amazing, the music was great, our hay ride into the cow field was a truly unique up and personal experience with the cows and their babies, the horses were happy, and the people who visited were happy.  [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”8998,9012,9058,9011,9013,9053,9059,9017,9014,9015,9056,9016,9068,9084,9019,9086,9096,9004,9001,9003,9000,9026,9032,8999,9002,9006,9022,9095,9065,9023,9021,9010,9009,9064,9029,9028,9044,9050,9051,9060,9075,9030,9031,9025,9074,9033,9027,9034,9088,9063,9036,9066,9037,9039,9040,9038,9041,9042,9081,9076,9089,9054,9049,9070,9069,9067,9055,9046,9045,9047,9048″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Our awesome Day in the Country fundraiser has received some pretty good coverage so far. On Wednesday July 27th, our President (Steve Bilas) and VP (Mike Grenier) were interviewed by Kim Sullivan from Global TV and then today July 29th, our Director of Media & Marketing (Darren Mayoff) was interviewed by Ted Bird from the 106,7 The Jewel Radio station in Hudson. Then, the morning of the event Darren was also interviewed by Dave Fisher of CJAD AM 800. Check out the clips below. Here is the clip from CJAD:   Here is the clip from the Jewel:   Below is the TV clip from Global. Thanks once again to our friends in the Montreal media for helping to make our events a success.

This past weekend on July 2 & 3rd AHT got to spend some time promoting the rescue at Au Galop festival in the town of St.Lazare. The organisers were kind enough to think of us and provide us with our own little booth. The crowds themselves were massive and thanks to to the organizing team of Au Galop, our booth was placed in an excellent location which allowed us the most visibility possible.   Loads of people stopped by to ask about our group, where we’re located, what our history is and of course about the horses. Plus we took the opportunity to tell people all about our upcoming “Day in the Country” fundraiser. We even got a surprise visit from St.Lazare mayor Robert Grimaudo who stopped by to say hello.   In all, a great time was had. Thank you so much to the organisers of the Au Galop for a great event!

As part of our 4th annual “Day in the Country” summer fundraiser on July 30th 2016, we’re once again selling raffle tickets…but unlike prior years, for the first year ever, we’re making virtual tickets available online and in person at our barn ahead of the event! Some of the prizes: Autographed soccer ball from the entire team of Montreal Impact 100$ gift certificate to Montreal’s premiere steakhouse Gibby’s Restaurant Tickets to see the Montreal Canadiens 2 Night “Splash and stay” family 4 pack at Jay Peak  And more!!!   You can get 5 tickets for 5$ or a bargain: 10$ increments will get you 12 tickets. That 12 chances to win for only 10$!!!   Online ticket sales have now ended. Good luck to all that enter the draw!!!

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] On June 15, after ongoing medical treatments over the last few months our gentle giant “Big” Jim sadly passed away.   Jim had been experiencing various medical issues since November 2015. In April 2016, things took a turn for the worse with several bouts of colic. He was paid numerous visits from our vet, and given constant care from our barn manager and members, but things didn’t improve. Thanks to the generosity of our members, Jim paid his first visit to St.Hyacinthe equine hospital in April of 2016. Jim spent almost 2 weeks there, possibly breaking the record for the number of visits during visiting hours, when he was finally able to come back home to A Horse Tale.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”8897″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”8890″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Jim arrived back to AHT’s barn. As per the hospital and his vet, he was under a strict diet, with constant watch and care via our barn manager and dedicated members. Even with all this…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A Horse Tale (AHT) held its Annual General (AGM) meeting today at Zee Grub in Vaudreuil, today, May 15, 2016. As a registered Canadian charity, it’s part of our mandate to hold this meeting once a year to go over the year in review as well as the future of the group. We opened the meeting by thanking Michael from Zee Grub for letting us use his sugar shack to hold the meeting. It was a perfect venue to meet, and provided for a nice cozy atmosphere (with the fire burning) on this cold May day. They have always been very supportive of our group and it was truly appreciated. Then each of the board members went over all that transpired last year, what went well, what didn’t and what’s in store for the future. We covered: Barn renovations (such as plans to add in a round ring for the horses to exercise) Finances and all of the…

Below is a message that was sent to us by a mom who visited A Horse Tale’s BBQ fundraiser on August 3rd, 2014.  It’s re-printed here with her permission. I would like to personally thank you for the most wonderful experience that happened at your fundraiser today. My son Joseph age 5 (well 6 on September 3rd) is autistic. Joseph had a very serious fear of animals. Two years ago a cat could not even go near him without blood-curdling screaming. While we had no pets of our own at the time, to witness this fear in him was heartbreaking. There was no explanation for it, we assumed it to be an autism thing.  After much therapy (which I won’t get into), one day while we were on a family vacation in Cuba, Joseph spotted a cat. He asked me if he could go and pet the cat. I smiled…
